Who doesn’t love a parent hack?!
Anything to make our lives just that little bit easier, right?
Here are our favourite summer hacks to make life with little ones easier during the warmer months…
In the garden
Put a fitted sheet over your paddling pool over night to stop leaves and other debris falling in so you keep it clean and don’t have to refill it every day.
In the car
Car seats, in particular the metal parts on the seat buckles, can get very hot on hot sunny days. A baby’s skin is 15 times thinner than an adult’s so burns at much lower temperatures.
Try putting a light coloured sheet or towel over your little one’s car seat on hot days to keep the seat cooler and stop the metal parts of the buckle from burning their skin when they get in.
Suncream
Do your kids hate having suncream applied? Try using a makeup brush to apply sun cream to their face. If they’re still a bit reluctant, ask them what they want to be that day, a tiger, a mermaid, a ladybird! Works like a charm with my kids!
At the beach
Sand gets everywhere doesn’t it! When it’s time to leave to avoid sand following you home use talcum powder to remove sand from little feet and bodies.
Ice lollies
Ice lollies are the perfect way to cool little people down on a hot day but it can get messy! Try sliding a cupcake case up the stick to the bottom of the lolly to catch those drips!
Make your own
If you want a healthier option than an ice cream or ice lolly for hot days why not get some lolly moulds and use fruit pouches to fill them. Just as refresher and one of their 5 a day!
We’d love to hear any more parenting hacks you have!
