I’m Kay, the local Daisy first Aid Trainer for Gosport, Fareham and Bursledon.
Here are 5 things about me…
Why I became a Daisy First Aid Trainer….
years later with my second child I started to look into booking another course. This time I noticed on the website that my local area was available as a franchise.
My background/own experience…
I was a teacher and taught vocational qualifications and mental wellbeing in several colleges and throughout my community.
What I love about teaching…
I can’t think of a more worthy subject to teach. As a baby I was severely scalded by a hot tea pot. Months in intensive care left me with skin grafts on my inner thigh, upper arm and neck. I am acutely aware how easily accidents can happen.
Being a mum to two children myself I
understand how worrying it can be when children are injured (my youngest certainly enjoys seeking out mischief AKA hazards) or ill. I love teaching vital first aid skills and giving parents and care givers the confidence to act should an accident or medical emergency arise.
My proudest moments…
My children make me proud. I would also say that knowing I am teaching life-saving skills also makes me very proud.
Something fun/interesting about me…
As someone with type 1 diabetes I am actively involved in helping to raise awareness and funds for children and adults with the condition.
