Here are 5 things about me…
Why I became a Daisy First Aid Trainer….
When my maternity leave after having my eldest was coming to an end, I really wasn’t prepared to return to my full time job in an office in Westminster.
I wanted to work nearby and flexibly, and importantly I wanted to make sure that the time was still spent doing something that helped others.
I came across the Daisy First Aid franchise and immediately it ticked all the boxes. I started my business in 2017 and absolutely love it – I teach parents how to save their babies’ lives, how amazing is that!
My background/own experience…
I have always worked around children, education and training, and my most recent role was working for a group of nurseries. I also have a background in Psychology, and so I understand how important and precious those early years are and the struggles you can go through as a parent.
My First Aid experience comes mainly from my time as a parent with my two playful boys. I have dealt with head bumps, burns, gagging/minor choking, ingestion of poisonous substances and all the bumps and scrapes that come with childhood. It certainly takes away the panic knowing what to do!
What I love about teaching…
I thoroughly enjoy my classes and always leave with a bit of a buzz knowing that I have empowered another set of parents with skills and knowledge that could save a life.
It’s wonderful meeting parents and families and being part of their journey with a new baby, and meeting babies in class (even virtually) is always a bonus!
My proudest moments…
Those occasions when I have heard from parents that they have put into practice what I have taught and were able to deal with an emergency situation with their or another child have certainly made me feel proud.
I am so pleased they were able to act when needed and to recall what I taught them to help that baby or child. This is why we do it!!
I also love receiving feedback from parents who have taken my classes and simply feel more confident and prepared moving forward with their babies.
Something interesting about me…
My sister and I are married to a set of brothers! This means my husband is my elder sister’s husband’s younger brother (confused?)!
One benefit is that it saved a lot of time when it came to compiling mine and my husband’s wedding guest list!

I run Daisy First Aid Haringey & Walthamstow which covers; Finsbury Park, Crouch End, Hornsey, Seven Sisters, Tottenham, Wood Green, Walthamstow, South Woodford, Wanstead, Leytonstone, Redbridge, Woodford and any areas nearby and in-between.

- e-Learning courses for first aid and infection control
