My name is Ashley. I’m the local Daisy First Aid Trainer for Elmbridge & surrounds in Surrey.
Here are 5 things about me…
Why I became a Daisy First Aid Trainer….
I wanted to help empower parents more. Parenting is incredibly rewarding, it’s also very tiring so anything that helps people feel more confident in that role is a good thing, right?
My background/own experience…
I originally trained as a Montessori Directress, qualifying in the Infancy & Pre-school Diplomas. I’ve worked in Montessori nurseries, been a TA in Pre-prep, been a sole charge nanny & worked as a room manager in Daycare nurseries. Overall I had 20 years post qualification experience with babies & children before joining DFA.
What I love about teaching…
Seeing people who attend classes and courses go from being nervous & unsure, to being more relaxed and equipped to handle situations.
My proudest moments…
Getting emails to say that people have used what they learned in the class/course to help someone & they didn’t shy away from stepping up to help..
Something fun/interesting about me…
I have always been a supporter of charity. I have done treks and other challenges to raise money for charities that are close to my heart.
After I came back from Climbing Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, one of my Mum’s friends who had sponsored me gave me an action figure – she said I was her action hero – wow!
If I can inspire others to help people, then that’s a wonderful thing.
