Why I became a Daisy First Aid Trainer….

After I had my daughter, corporate life didn’t really suit me any more. I really enjoyed the Daisy First Aid Class I took before I started weaning and decided to buy a franchise and re-train.

I’ve been a franchisee for over 8 years now and I love teaching new parents. As my family have expanded, so has my business. I work flexibly around the children and feel really lucky to meet so many lovely people that I train.

My background/own experience…

I’ve been a first aid trainer for over 8 years now, specialising in paediatric first aid – but I’ve also branched into first aid at work and mental health first aid too.

Most of my first aid experience has happened as a mum at home with the children – I’ve dealt with choking, swallowed coins, suspected broken bones and life threatening medical conditions. 

When I teach my classes, I share my experiences to put parents at ease – it doesn’t matter how careful you are, accidents still happen – but it’s how you deal with them that matters most.

What I love about teaching…

The thing I love most is seeing how relieved and relaxed parents are at the end of class when they have all the knowledge and have enjoyed the session.

I also really love hearing people’s stories – especially if the grandparents are in the class and telling stories of accidents that their children have and how they dealt with it! 

I tend to leave my classes feeling a real buzz knowing that I’ve helped people feel confident and assured.

My proudest moment…

I have lots of moments that I’m proud of as a Daisy First Aid trainer, including winning a national business award as Franchisee of the Year. 

The absolute most proudest is knowing that my training has saved lives.

Something fun/interesting/ or important about me….

I am quite accident prone and once walked into a lamppost whilst talking to my friend and not looking where I was going! 

What I offer & where…

I run Daisy First Aid Redhill and Croydon which also covers the following areas: Oxted, Warlingham, Caterham, Westerham, Godstone and Biggin Hill.

I offer 2 hour parent classes in person and live via Zoom, e-learning courses, children’s first aid workshops, level 3 paediatric first aid for Ofsted.
