First Aid in schools

Daisy First Aid have had a great start to the New Year after the government announced on 3rd Jan 2019 that teaching basic first aid in schools will be compulsory. By the time they leave school our children will have learnt CPR, how to use a defibrillator and basic treatment for common injuries. This will give them the confidence to help someone in need and in some cases could save a life.

Other countries already teaching CPR in schools double their survival rates so this is definatly a life skill worth learning.

Daisy First Aid already offer classes for children age 7+ which covers recovery position, resuscitation, bleeding and choking and a more detailed class for 11+ which adds additional techniques including, head injuries, seizures, bleeding and anaphylaxis.
Some school have already seen the importance of teaching their students these skills and now every child will have the same opportunity.

All our classes either in schools or teaching parents and carers are fun and friendly giving confidence and knowledge to know what to do in an emergency.

We really hope that this news will encourage everyone to learn some basic first aid which are skills they can take wherever they go in life.

If you are saying to yourself “I wouldn’t know what to do” if I had to do CPR, help some who is choking or put someone in the recovery position then maybe now is the time to learn. Don’t be that person shouting for a first aider be one yourself. www.daisyfirstaid.com
