It’s almost Easter and on this week’s blog we have some egg-ceptional actitives for you to try with your little ones at home!
Let’s face it, it may be spring but the weather is so unpredictable so here are some great activities for you to try and home with your little ones over the Easter weekend!
Easter bunting
Cut an egg shape out of card and let your child design their own eggs using paints, pens or stickers. Make lots and string them together to make Easter themed bunting to decorate your home!
Egg decorating
Gather some hard-boiled eggs, paint, stickers, markers, and any other decorative materials you have on hand, and let your children’s imagination run wild! Encourage them to create their own unique Easter egg designs. From traditional patterns to funny characters, the possibilities are endless!
Easter egg hunt
It wouldn’t be Easter without an Easter egg hunt! Small chocolate eggs shouldn’t be given to children under 5 because they are a choking hazard. Instead how about hiding different coloured plastic eggs and assign your child a colour to find. That way they have less chocolate to eat, there is no arguing about who has found more eggs and they can be re-hidden for hours of fun and reused each year!
Easter bunny crafts
All you need is a piece of card for this one. Draw around your child’s hand and cut out the hand shape. Fold the middle finger away from you (or cut it off) and the thumb and little finger towards you. There you have two ears and two paws (the thumb and little finger). You can draw your bunny face on and add cotton wool for its tail! These are super easy to make and kids love them!
Paper plate bunnies
You need two paper plates for this one. Draw a bunny face on one of them and cut the other one in half to make the ears. Stick the ears to back of the face plate and you have your Easter bunny! You could use cotton wool for the nose and pipe cleaners for the whiskers if you have them handy.
Spring-themed scavenger hunt
Create a list of items commonly found in nature during springtime, such as flowers, birds, and insects, and challenge your children to find them all. This activity not only gets them moving but also helps them develop observation skills and learn about the world around them.
We hope you have a wonderful Easter with your little ones! Share this blog with a parent who might like to try these activities.
